“The Secrets of Silicon Valley” was a controversial film made in 2001 by two activists. Their goal was to make a film about the negative impacts of the technology revolution in the Silicon Valley.

The film, which was made without narration, follows the daily lives of two individuals caught up in the revolution. One individual runs a low-income computer training center called “Plugged In”. Like many other small businesses and individuals, the rising costs in rent was forcing this training center to find a new home.

The other activist who took part in this documentary wanted to uncover the truth about the large immigrant community who were hired to work in the largely growing manufacturing industry.

This film was produced to get the attention of the global community. While the technology revolution provided a large number of jobs to folks living in the Silicon Valley, low income families were negatively impacted by the increasing rental rates and immigrant workers were treated poorly and often lived in substandard housing. The makers of the film wanted to educate their intended audiences about the adverse affects this industry had on a large portion of the population in the area.

What is the message behind the documentary Secrets of Silicon Valley?

This one-hour documentary takes on a couple of different issues. One is the social impact of high-tech lifestyles, and how our high-tech lives affect the world at large, our health, and the communities in which we live.

What we see as the documentary plays out is also how our economic standing impacts our place in society and how we’re perceived.

While technology makes business more easily globalized, <strong>there’s another side to it. It’s not all about the flexibility and customization that technology gives us (we can pick our best Internet plans, television packages and even have advertising catered to us online).

What will it say to you?

We don’t want to give away too much of the plot, but Secrets of Silicon Valley gives a glimpse of the temporary assembly line worker, an existence that includes low pay and no degree of job security, while closeby, on the upper end of Silicon Valley, rich businessmen and plugged in media outlets exist without such insecurities and hardships.

We suggest you watch the documentary with friends or family, then discuss what it meant to you. There are a few good reviews online of this documentary, and you can find the best internet provider deals.

The Secrets of Silicon Valley has the potential to shock millions of people by its exposure of the negative impact that the Internet has on the world. It has no narration, as it follows to young people that struggle with the meaning of globalization and social change.

This documentary is the first film to truly confront the impact that technology is having on our social lives, and so far it is the only film to do so. It is an important message that the world needs to hear. And with the help of you and I, hopefully we can get the message out to more and more people. It is important to get this film into national theaters and film festivals if the world is going to have easy access to the documentary. But it is also necessary to get this film into schools. The youth is our future and this film can warn our future of how dangerous the Internet and excessive technology can be to our social lives. Things like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are all impacting our lives in ways that we may never have realized without The Secrets of Silicon Valley. So, how many people have seen the film already? It is hard to say, but with your help hopefully we can increase that amount everyday.

The Secrets of Silicon Valley was released 11 years ago, but it is still relevant today. The two main characters in this insightful documentary are Magda Escobar and Raj Jayadev. Both of these individuals are trying to buck a corrupt system and save the world – or at least the little bit of world they inhabit.

Magda Escobar runs Plugged In, a low income computer training center focused on helping the less fortunate in the community find work in this potentially lucrative but often exploitative field. She fights rising costs to stay in business, determined to make a difference in a community that reveres the uber wealthy.

Raj Jayadev is the ying to Escobar’s yang. He is himself a temp worker in the computer industry and is fighting from inside the system for change. Seeking higher wages, a better working environment and for the temp agencies to be held to their pay promises, Jayadev is eventually fired. Rather than being discouraged, he ramps up his fight and takes it all the way to the California State Senate, where he passionately advocated for a better system.

Escobar and Jayadev are the heart of this earnest documentary. They continue the fight today. Jayadev now works as the Coordinator of Silicon Valley De-Bug, an organizing collective in San Jose. He also writes for various publications. Escobar is still the executive director for Plugged In, as well as serving on several other boards and organizations.

With a deep love of all things technology the American population simple does not know about the dark underbelly of one of the wealthiest and high-end areas of the country. Silicon Valley is home to thousands of technology companies. Apple, Microsoft and a myriad of other recognizable brands have all set up shop in Silicon Valley. “Secrets of Silicon Valley” is a non-narrated documentary that takes a look at two of the small time players in the tech world; a manager of a computer training program and a migrant worker. Both have their own stories about the dark world of the technology age.

The film is a gripping and interesting look at the world of high-tech and how it affects the low-income population of the world, but for some reason the film never garnered a great amount of attention. It, like many other expose-style documentaries, received a good amount of internet-hype but lacked the backing of large production companies to truly reach the masses. There are thousands of truly astounding documentaries mad each year that never reach high viewership, but their message and production remain important. To check out this and other similar films do a quick internet search and you will find a myriad of documentaries that can be viewed online.

The documentary “The Secrets of Silicon Valley” unveils truths about the negative effects of the Internet revolution. Directors Alan Snitow and Deborah Kaufman set out to make a film that exposes the inner workings of the current tech climate, while trying to analyze Americans’ current fascination with gadgets and technology.

This probing look inside the booming world of high tech was conceived as a story told through the eyes of two people: Magda Escobar, who runs a computer training facility that is losing money thanks to the high real estate costs in Silicon Valley, and Raj Jayadev, a worker at a computer assembly plant that has sought to challenge the poor working conditions.

The filmmakers follow the stories of these two through the course of a year, unveiling the downside of dealing with tech companies that goes beyond the positive image these companies want to portray. Some representatives from these companies do participate in the documentary.

By revealing insights on technology, greed, and globalization, “The Secrets of Silicon Valley” offers a unique take on the tech companies that Americans generally consider to be benign participants in capitalism. The film has already won awards and has been screened at a handful of prominent film festivals, where it met with much acclaim.

The Secrets of Silicon Valley was a great documentary. It was a good film because it actually brought things to light that people were not aware of. This is a big deal when it comes to documentary filmaking.

In many instances people that make a documentary will not have things in place. People like to make movies but they seldom have the right kind of information that will inspire people to watch. It really helps to have a movie in place that will be informative. People that watch movies want to discover something new. They want to find out something that they could not know without watching the film.

The Silicon Valley has always been a mystery to many other people that where curious about these big corporations. The companies that are there are hiring some kids that are geniuses, but the dark secrets were never unveiled. It was just a mystery for people that were on the outside looking in. This is why people that saw the film are prasing the director. He has a vision that made this film was it is. He had the foresight to know what movie lovers would want. This film has real honesty.
